10U-Palazzo Wins Freeze Bullying Championship

Bracket play in the USSSA Freeze Bullying tournament 10U-C division was moved to Saturday ahead of Sunday’s forecasted rain, and Firebirds 10U-Palazzo took full advantage to claim the title. They jumped out to an 8-0 lead on the Virginia Unity after 3 innings, then held on to win the championship, 10-6. Marina P., Abby M., Caitlyn L., & Lauren H. each knocked in 2 runs. Megan B., Caitlyn L., & Mya C. each contributed from the circle, combining to strike out 8.

The Firebirds avenged a big Unity comeback in pool play that resulted in a 7-7 tie. They shut out the Stingrays, 7-0, in their second pool play game to capture the top seed moving into bracket play.
